Best of the Week 15

Another week is on the end… and it has been a week that made me think a lot about this World: earthquakes, wars and poverty increasing day after day… So, after seen Favela, the new solo by Jonathan Derby, I’ve decided to publish a Best of the Week completely dedicated to “social issues”, because I don’t think Art can change this World, but I’m sure Art can help people to change it.

So let’s start with the website of a great Artist and much more a great man: JR, the street artist who recently won the TED prize. I really like his artworks and the way his trying to make this World a better place.

And now the “best”, a week focused as I said before, on Art with a social meaning

	Traditional Art
	Here one of the new artworks by Jonathan Darby. Have also a look at his Flickr page and Blog, because it’s style is really amazing and his works can really “open people eyes”. Picture by Laura Moreno
	Digital Art
	This is really a great digital work by berk öztürk: I really liked the way he interpreted the concept of poverty. Here also his DeviantArt profile: really unique style!
	Picture of the Week
	This picture by Alberto Lizaralde is quite old, but I’ve just discovered it and I really like it. Picture apart, I liked also his project “24 hours with Rakesh” and I really suggest to have a look at it.
	Video of the Week
	Faith47 and her Art, a great example of art with a social meaning. I really like her style and much more the meaning of her pieces. Here the video.

	Special of the Week
	Inside Out, a global art project by JR. I’m sorry if I mention two times JR in this post, but this website really deserves to be seen.
